Rejuran and Profhilo are both injectable skin boosters: treatments that improve the quality of your skin rather than its shape. Rejuran is made of polynucleotides, purified DNA fragments from salmon, and is chosen mainly for texture, fine lines and skin that needs repair. Profhilo is made of a high concentration of hyaluronic acid and is chosen mainly for dehydrated, crepey or slightly lax skin. Neither is a filler, and neither changes your features. At Ivory Premier, Dr. Kim Cuizon, a medical doctor, looks at your skin first and recommends one, the other, or a plan that uses both.
What is a skin booster?
A skin booster is an injectable treatment placed in the skin to improve how it looks and behaves: its hydration, texture, elasticity and glow. Fillers are different. A filler is placed deeper to add volume or shape to an area such as the cheeks or lips. A skin booster spreads within the skin itself, so the result is better-looking skin rather than a different-looking face.
What is Rejuran?
Rejuran is made of polynucleotides, often shortened to PN. They are purified fragments of DNA taken from salmon. Placed in the skin as many tiny injections, they are thought to support the skin's own repair processes. People choose Rejuran for dull or tired-looking skin, fine lines, enlarged pores and uneven texture. Versions exist for the delicate skin under the eyes and for acne scars, and your doctor explains which suits you.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in skin that holds water. It contains a very high concentration in a form that spreads evenly under the skin after only a few injections on each side of the face. People choose it for skin that looks dehydrated, crepey or slightly loose, on the face and on areas such as the neck.

Which one should I choose?
Think about what bothers you most. If it is texture, pores, fine lines or skin that looks tired and needs repair, Rejuran is often the better match. If it is dryness, crepiness or skin that has lost its bounce, Profhilo is often the better match. If you want shape, such as fuller cheeks or lips, neither is the right tool, and filler may be what you are looking for. Your doctor confirms the choice after examining your skin.
Can Rejuran and Profhilo be combined?
Yes. Because they work in different ways, some plans use both, for example Profhilo for overall hydration and Rejuran for texture in particular areas. They are usually given at separate visits. Your doctor sets the order and spacing.
How long do the results last?
Changes build gradually over the course and the weeks after it. They then fade slowly as skin continues to age, which is why most people have maintenance sessions every few months. How long it lasts for you depends on your skin, age and habits such as sun protection and smoking.
Who should not have a skin booster?
Skin boosters are not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over an active skin infection, or to people allergic to an ingredient. Rejuran is not suitable if you are allergic to fish or salmon. Tell the doctor about any medicines, especially blood thinners, and any history of keloids or cold sores.
What happens at the consultation?
Dr. Kim reviews your health history, examines your skin and asks what you would like to change. If a skin booster suits you, you receive a written plan with the product, number of sessions and spacing before anything starts. You are never asked to decide on the day.
